The mono-coloured and bi-coloured Lakatoi present a completely new story. They were printed from new printing plates developed by Reading for Cooke.
The aim of this booklet is to provide a simple guide to identifying the various prints and varieties of mono-coloured and bi-coloured Lakatoi series. It provides a detailed analysis based on paper, colours shades, vignette and perforations and consolidates the information into easy to reference tabulated data.
The detailed analysis of the vignette and frame varieties of both the mono-coloured and bi-coloured Lakatoi issues is supported by illustrations and a CD with full-sheet scans making these varieties easy to recognise in order to add to build your collection. You can now do your own in-depth study using the high resolution scans to examine each stamp in the full-sheets. You can expand any image to beyond a single stamp on the screen of your computer without loosing clarity.
The tabulated data also provides the key to identifying those varieties that apply to the Official Service issues, and the various surcharges and airmail overprint issues.
As a result of the research undertaken new information is revealed concerning the uncovering of the "tail" flaw [39] in the 1/- Harrison Aeroplane overprint in Deep Carmine-red. A detailed discussion is presented with a revised collector's list of this particular issue.
All the information is consolidated into easy-to-reference tables and lists, and is supported with full-sheet images and high resolution scans.
