This booklet covers the British New Guinea issue of stamps produced by De La Rue of London and includes the 'Papua' overprints. There is also a section describing the Queensland stamps used in British New Guinea, the cancellations used and post office  in operation.

Equipped with tables, charts, diagrams and a CD with high resolution scans of full sheets you will be able to visualize and understand all the flaws of this series. Importantly, it provides a detailed summary of the prominent flaws of the series.

The high resolution scans of all the vignette plates A, B, 1 and 2 will enable you to enlarge any individual stamp on your computer to beyond a single stamp for minute examination. You will be easily able to understand more clearly the writings of Rosenblum on the plating of this series and become able to identify and plate any BNG stamp.

Information from various authors like Melville, Elliot, Rosenblum and Croaker has been consolidated into easy to reference tabulated data. A consolidated list of prominent vignette and frame varieties is provided, like the 'Sickle on the horizon' and the 'white leaves' flaws, to guide your collecting efforts. Included in the booklet are also in-depth discussions, illustrations and re-constructions of the 'Papua' overprint varieties leading to a clearer understanding of these varieties and their development.
